ANZAC Day March

South Johnstone State School staff and students are asked to join the Innisfail RSL's ANZAC Day March on Thursday 25 April, 2013. The March will begin at 8.30 am and schools will start to assemble in front of the RSL at 8.00 am. Please be near the playground by 7.50 am to assemble as a school before lining up.

ANZAC Day stands for the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps who fought in World War 1, which was fought from 1914 to 1918. On 25 April 1915, the ANZACs landed on the Gallipoli Peninsula in Turkey and fought bravely.

To commemorate the Australian lives lost in World War One and all conflicts since, ANZAC Day starts with a dawn service, and many people visit a local war memorial and march.
